The latest study shows that there is a strong link between Vitamin D deficiency and endometriosis.

Endometriosis is a chronic condition that is often very painful, especially, during the menstrual period. It often causes infertility – the inability to conceive a baby.

The reasons behind endometriosis are not well understood. The treatments involve medications and, sometimes surgery.

Researchers around the world were working on the question – what vitamin would help for endometriosis? There is no definitive answer to that yet. However, the latest study has shown a very close connection between the lack of Vitamin D and endometriosis. This offers some hope that this condition may be managed better with Vitamin D supplementation.

The study found a relatively high rate of women with ovarian endometriosis and hypovitaminosis D. Interestingly, a significant linear correlation between 25-OH-D3 serum levels and the diameter of ovarian endometrioma emerged.

There is a service in Melbourne, VICTORIA, Australia called Julia Argyrou Endometriosis Centre at Epworth, helping patients to deal with the debilitating effects of endometriosis on their lives.
