Diet Yumm – Evidence-Based Dietitian Services in Melbourne (In-Person & Online)

Diet Yumm is a Melbourne-based dietitian service offering both in-person and online consultations. The practice focuses on evidence-based, personalised nutrition care for adults and families across Melbourne.

Diet Yumm works through its unique Mind to Plate framework. This framework has been carefully developed and tested with many clients over time. It starts with detailed assessments that explore the root causes of dietary challenges. The process then moves into mindful eating strategies, practical behaviour change, and skill-building. Clients receive support with meal preparation, planning from scratch, and long-term habit formation.

Consultations are available via Zoom, telehealth, and face-to-face appointments. Diet Yumm currently operates across more than 15 locations in Melbourne, making access easy for local residents while also supporting clients Australia-wide through online services.

The practice was founded in 2016 by Purva Gulyani, an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Founding Director of Diet Yumm. She is also a Senior Diabetes Dietitian at Barwon Health. Purva holds qualifications in Food and Nutrition, Therapeutic Nutrition, and is currently completing a PhD at La Trobe University. She brings over 16 years of clinical experience to her work.

Purva is a lifelong member of Dietitians Australia, the Nutrition Society of Australia, ANZMOSS, and the Indian Dietetic Association. She was also the first dietitian to earn the Bariatric Care Specialist title from the Surgical Review Corporation in the United States. Before moving to Australia, she led the Department of Nutrition in Bariatric Surgery at a large multispecialty hospital in Delhi.

Diet Yumm reflects Purva’s commitment to sustainable, positive health change. The practice strongly follows evidence-based care and avoids fad diets or one-size-fits-all advice. Purva is also active in community health work, with a strong focus on improving nutrition outcomes for the South Asian community. She regularly contributes as a media spokesperson for Dietitians Australia.

Diet Yumm provides care in English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu. The practice supports clients looking for practical, reliable nutrition guidance grounded in science and delivered with empathy and cultural awareness.
