HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Course Overview
This course covers the skills and knowledge required to perform CPR in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. It applies to all persons required to provide CPR in a workplace or community setting.
Duration
This is a blended course with self-paced e-learning and face-to-face training and assessment. Students must complete their e-learning before attending face-to-face.
Course Content
This course provides the skills and knowledge to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Topics Include:
• Introduction to first aid principles
• Assessing a cardiac arrest
• Airway and breathing management
• Performing chest compressions
• Administering rescue breaths
• Infection control procedures
• Resuscitation techniques
• Using a defibrillator Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• AED maintenance
Course Location: Sydney-wide
